Research Grant Management Office (RGMO)

Your dedicated partner in securing and managing research funding, from opportunity identification to post-project reporting.

Comprehensive & Optimized Support

The RGMO, or Research Grant Management Office, is the cross-cutting department of TIDRC in charge of overseeing research funding. From the identification of calls for projects to post-funding management, this office offers comprehensive and optimized support to researchers. Its main mission is to facilitate access to research grants — whether for collaborative projects, contracts, or partnerships — relying primarily on funding from foundations. The department positions itself as the central pillar to ensure coherence and quality in funding within the center.

Structured around a Project Manager, supported by a Finance Division (comprising a manager and an assistant) and an IT Specialist, the RGMO is directly attached to TIDRC, thus guaranteeing seamless coordination.

Collaboration and Dissemination of Results

The strength of the RGMO also lies in its close collaboration with researchers. Administrative staff and research teams work hand in hand, providing support in the writing and submission of grant applications. "Grant Writing" training sessions are regularly organized to boost the quality of applications. In addition, the dissemination of research results is integrated from the beginning of the process. Scientific days, conferences, and sharing sessions are among the various means implemented to ensure the visibility and impact of the work carried out.

Impacts, Partnerships, and Challenges

Flagship projects such as Genomics of African Vectors and EcoVir demonstrate the concrete impact of the RGMO, with one patent and 18 publications to its credit. These successes perfectly illustrate the efficiency and importance of the department's support. Moreover, the RGMO constantly monitors funding opportunities through active collaboration with regional, African, and European institutions. Although fundraising is not part of its mission, optimizing grants remains at the core of its priorities. Faced with challenges such as continuous staff training and the establishment of a robust management framework, improvement initiatives — such as the creation of procedure manuals and the automation of processes — are currently being deployed.
